On 8 March 1988 this aircraft was the lead aircraft in a flight of three that was returning to the airfield after completing an NVG mission. A single aircraft (87-24605) was also returning to the airfield under NVGs when it collided with this aircraft as they approached a reporting point for the airfield. After the two helicopters collided, they fell 250 feet to the ground and burned.
