On 4 May 2002 the Aircraft crashed and sank in the Pacific Ocean about 87 miles off San Diego during a training exercise. All 3 personnel were rescued. The accident occurred when the Aircraft was attempting to land on the guided-missile destroyer Paul Hamilton at 9:38 p.m. The Hamilton is part of the Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier battle group now training for deployment to the Arabian Sea.
