On 11 March 1986 the aircraft was doing traffic pattern work when it was observed entering a excessive nose low attitude and crashing into a wooded area. The aircraft impacted the ground in a nearly inverted attitude, as a result the aircraft was destroyed and consumed by a post-crash fire. The findings of the accident investigation were inconclusive.
