By the end of 1987 the aircraft had been mostly converted to the MH-60G standard and at some point, the T700-GE-700 engines had also been replaced with T700-GE-701C Turboshaft Engines. On 1 March 1988 the 55th Aerospace Rescue Recovery Squadron (ARRS) was redesignated as the 55th Special Operations Squadron (55th SOS) and remained at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida. On 25 February 1993 the 55th Special Operations Squadron moved to Hurlburt Field, Florida. In 2000 the Aircraft was transferred to the 512th Rescue Squadron (512th RQS) at Kirtland AFB, New Mexico. |
