In 2001 the Aircraft was converted to an MH-60R and assigned Bureau Number 166402. This would be the 3rd MH-60R conversion. The aircraft made its first flight on 19 July 2001 and was formally accepted by the Navy later in the same month. On 10 August 2001 the Aircraft was at Patuxent River, Maryland, for installation of flight test instrumentation and then to Lockheed Martin at Owego for fitting of new mission systems. First flight with 'total weapon system' made on 4 April 2002. From 2005 to 2010 the Aircraft was with HSL-41 at NAS North Island, San Diego, California. On 9 August 2010 the Aircraft was delivered to 309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group (309th AMARG) in Tucson, Arizona for storage and on 2 December 2010 was Struck from Charge. On 27 January 2014 the Aircraft was sent to Fleet readiness Center Southeast (FRCSE) at NAS Jacksonville, Florida for conversion to an Instructional Airframe for the Royal Australian Navy (RAN). |
