In April 1983 the aircraft was accepted into the Army Inventory and assigned to the U.S. Army Aviation Engineering Flight Activity (USAAEFA), at Edwards Air Force Base, California. The Aircraft was used to evaluate the UH-60A with the ESSS installed to ensure satisfactory operation consistent with the moderate icing envelope capability of the basic UH-60A. Testing was conducted in the vicinity of Duluth, Minnesota from 20 February to 29 March 1984. |
