On 12 April 1990 the Aircraft was assembled from a Sikorsky provided kit by Hawker De Havilland at Bankstown, Australia and flown for the first time.

In August 2014 the Aircraft was transferred to 6th Aviation Regiment based at Holsworthy, New South Wales (NSW). In December 2017 the Allocated to Army Aviation Test and Evaluation Section (AATES), based at Oakey.
