On 29 July 2009 after making a precautionary landing in the Helmand Province of Afghanistan due to damage from small arms fire, the decision was made to sling load the aircraft back to the Forward Operating Base (FOB). Main Rotor Blade removal was unsuccessful, so the blades were being cut off by D Company, 3/82nd of U.S. Army which sparked off a Fuel Cell Fire and the aircraft burned to the ground. |
