On 13 March 1985 this aircraft was destroyed during a tactical flight. Personnel on the ground observed the aircraft pitch nose up about 25 degrees and climb, it then pitched down greater than 45 degrees and impacted some trees. The aircraft landed upside down in the opposite direction of flight. It exploded upon impact and burned. It is believed that this accident was caused by a missing bolt in the Mixing Unit.
