On 29 August 1989 this aircraft was assembled from a Sikorsky provided kit by Hawker De Havilland at Bankstown, Australia and flown for the first time. Delivered to the Royal Australian Army and assigned to 5th Aviation Regiment located at Bundaberg, Queensland. Name of Cowling: Vengeance In May 1993 One of 6 deployed to Cambodia aboard USAF C-5A Galaxy as part of the United Nations Transitional Authority in Cambodia (UNTAC). They were painted white with United Nations titles and only a small RAAF serial on the tail. On 10 November 2005 the Aircraft was located with 171st Squadron, 5th Aviation Regiment at Townsville, Queensland. In August 2014 the Aircraft was transferred to 6th Aviation Regiment based at Holsworthy, New South Wales (NSW). |
