On 15 August 1995 this Aircraft was flying lead in a two ship NVG mission from RAF Akrotiri, Cyprus enroute to Larnaka International Airport in support of the Beirut Air Bridge (BAB). The Aircraft was at an altitude of approximately 700 feet AGL and doing about 140 knots when Chalk 2 observed a fire from lead's #2 engine. They then observed the Aircraft in a high-speed descent and impacting the Water. It was later determined that the #2 engine had suffered an internal materiel failure.
