On 05 February 2022 the US Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) and Sikorsky have flown a UH-60 helicopter with no crew onboard the aircraft for the first time. It uses the Aircrew Labor In-Cockpit Automation System (ALIAS) which allows the aircraft to be flown with two, one, or no crew onboard. The first flight with no crew took place at Fort Campbell, Kentucky on 5 February 2022. During its half-hour flight the aircraft appears to have successfully navigated around the area with no issues.
