On 11 November 1986 this aircraft was damaged when during an NVG mission one of the pilots experienced Vertigo and transferred the controls to the other Copilot. At some point, after transferring the aircraft controls, a rapid descent was induced, and the aircraft impacted the water. It came to rest on its side in approximately 4 feet of water. Everyone was able to exit the aircraft unharmed and evacuated by the Coast Guard several hours later.
