On 02 March 1984 this aircraft was destroyed when it impacted the side of a mountain in bad weather about 35 miles from the Nicaraguan border during the training exercise "Big Pine II". Of the 10 personnel aboard the aircraft 4 suffered fatal injuries. Of the 6 other personnel on board the aircraft 2 sustained permanent injuries.
